Manju Jobanputra: Personal memories of the expulsion

Arriving in the UK during the 1972 exodus of Ugandan Asians, Manju felt the bitter cold as she walked off the aeroplane onto the airport tarmac, feeling anxious and scared she was greeted by the warmth of the British people, whom she thanks whole heartedly.

This talk was recorded as part of a collaboration between The National Archives and The Exiles Project, marking 40 years since the expulsion of Asians from Uganda by Idi Amin.
