Introduction (IAMFA Environmental Group, November 2012)

Introduction by Paul Davies, Head of Estates and Facilities, The National Archives.

On Monday 26 November 2012, the IAMFA (International Association of Museum Facility Administrators) Environmental Group met at The National Archives, Kew. The group was born out of an initiative at the National Museum Director’s Council (NMDC) to reduce the environmental impact of museums, galleries, libraries and archives while safeguarding their collections for future generations.

The group is a collaborative group from UK organisations, and is generally made up of a mix of Estate and Facilities staff and conservators and collection managers.

The National Archives is a member of the group.
